St. Francis de Sales Mission School : gathering momentum

SFS mission school is a growing attraction in Tabora. It is becoming more popular day by day. It has already acquired a good name among the people and the government leaders because of its good service to the poor children and its quality. The school received the certificate for the best primary school in Tabora for 2006 from the Ministry of Education and it is placed among the 'A' grade schools in Tanzania.

A lot of children are brought to the school in search of quality education. But we cannot take them all due to limited space. So we choose the most needy ones. In 2008, the total strength of the school was 550. To make rooms for more children we have built the second phase of the primary school. The foundation stone for this building was laid by Ms. Maud Bonte on 15th July 2006 and the building was blessed by Archbishop Paul Ruzoka of Tabora and opened by Rev. Fr. Thomas Olickal, the Provincial of MSFS in East Africa on 2nd August 2007. The new building has 6 class rooms, 4 offices, a computer room and library. We need to make more furniture for the school soon.

The year 2008 is a special year for the school as the children will make the class IV national exam of for the first time. We hope to reap great results from the hard work of our committed teaching staff.
